NAUSEA

Nausea is thesensation of being about to vomit. Vomiting is the forcible voluntary orinvoluntary emptying ("throwing up") of stomach contents through themouth.
Nausea can be acute and short-lived, or it can be prolonged. When prolonged, itis a debilitating symptom. Nausea (and vomiting) can be psychological orphysical in origin.

Cause-
Nausea is not a sickness, but rather a symptom of several conditions, many ofwhich are unrelated to the stomach. Nausea is often indicative of an underlyingcondition elsewhere in the body.
The following causes are given below-

Diagnosis-
Diagnosis is based on the severity, frequency, and duration of symptoms, andother factors that could indicate the presence of a serious illness.

Treatment-
While short-term nausea and vomiting are generally harmless, they may sometimesindicate a more serious condition, when associated with prolonged vomiting, itmay lead to dehydration and/or dangerous electrolyte imbalances.
It is important to stay hydrated. Try steady, small amounts of clear liquids, such as electrolyte solutions. Other clear liquids -- such as water, gingerale, or fruit juices -- also work.
Don't drink too much at one time. Stretching the stomach can make nausea andvomiting worse. Avoid solid foods until there has been no vomiting for sixhours, and then work slowly back to a normal diet.
Pregnant women experiencing morning sickness can eat some crackers beforegetting out of bed or eat a high protein snack before going to bed (lean meator cheese).

Prevention-
Massage, meditation, yoga, and other relaxation techniques can help preventstress-induced nausea. Anti-nausea medication taken before traveling canprevent motion sickness. Sitting in the front seat, focusing on the horizon, and traveling after dark can also minimize symptoms.
Food should be fresh, properly prepared, and eaten slowly. Overeating,tight-fitting clothes, and strenuous activity immediately after a meal shouldbe avoided.

Role of homoeopathy
Homeopathy is based on the principle of "like cures like". Theremedies, which are generally dilutions of natural substances from plants, minerals, and animals, are selected to specifically match a person's individualsymptom pattern. .Homoeopathic medicines help in boosting the immune system ofthe patient to treat and prevent it.
